You and your family are invited to attend our Open House on Wednesday, February 28th. You are invited to visit your child’s classroom, visit with your child’s teacher, and see the latest art and learning projects. The children will also be performing a few of their favorite music songs and activities. You will not want to miss it! The Open House schedule is as follows:
6:30 – 6:50 p.m. – All families visit their classrooms.
6:50 – 7:00 p.m. – ALL CHILDREN need to be left in their classrooms and parents go to the CLC gym to get a seat for the program.
7:05 – 7:30 p.m. – Music program in gym.
The staff and children are working hard to prepare for Open House. We are looking forward to visiting with you and letting you be a part of the Early Learning Center for an evening! Hope to see you all — Wednesday, February 28th.
Don’t forget! Registration for current families for the 2018-19 school year begins Wednesday, February 7th at 9am. If you arrive early, the line begins at the east ELC entrance by Miss Wendy’s room. Don’t forget your enrollment form and $100 registration fee.
The ELC will be having Valentine Parties on Wednesday, February 14. Miss Kathy and Miss Amy will also celebrate on Thursday, February 15.
Your child will need to bring a Valentine card for each child in the class. We ask that you let your child “sign” their cards, but please do not address them to the other children. This makes it much easier for the children to distribute the cards. They will drop one card in each bag or box, including their own.
Check with your teacher to see how many children are in your child’s class. Add one if you would like to include the teacher.
Also be sure to check the sign up by your teacher’s door! She may still need snacks. Check with the homeroom mom to see what craft/activity is planned for the party!
Don’t forget Thursday, November 16th is our feast for all students. We will offer alternatives for dietary restrictions. Your child may not be hungry when they come home! If you child attends Lunch Bunch, please send a healthy snack in their lunch. Please look at the signups outside your teacher’s classroom.
Pre-K graduation was May 24th! The ELC is closed for the summer. If you would like to speak with a staff member or schedule a personal tour, please call us at 972.235.8233 or email at email@example.com. Messages will be checked periodically throughout the summer.
This week, we sent home parent evaluations of our program. We MUST have 60% participation in the parent survey in order to meet Accreditation Goals. It is critical that the survey be filled out and returned. There is a box on the Parent Connections shelf by the ELC office to collect completed evaluations. Your comments and suggestions are very important to us; they serve as a valuable aid in future planning. Please return your evaluations by Monday, May 15th.
Mark your calendars and plan to attend this special event! All mothers (or a grandmother, an aunt, etc) of our two year olds through PreK are invited to attend a special Mother’s Day Tea on Thursday, May 11 (Miss Kathy’s 2s, Wendy’s 2s, Miss Jill’s 3s TTH classes) or Friday, May 12 (all MWF and M-F classes). Toddlers do not participate in the Mother’s Day Teas. Please come to your child’s classroom at 11:15 for a special party to honor you.
This year we are going back to our roots! Instead of a one day event, we are going to have a week long silent auction at the ELC starting April 24th. Come into the school during Conference week, and put down how much you would pay for the item. The highest bid wins!!
Also, be sure to look at the teacher treats. Each teacher has a special item!
I am pleased to announce that the Early Learning Center will be holding “Camp Summershine.” Camp Summershine is a short summer program offered by the ELC. It will be held June 27-30 (Tuesday – Friday) from 9:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. Summershine is open to current ELC children who are enrolled in the Toddler – four year old class this school year and ELC siblings and graduates ages 6 to 8 as of September 1, 2016. The registration fee for Summershine is $15 per child and the tuition is $75 per child.
Camp Summershine will involve many of the same activities the children participate in during the regular school year. The children attend Music, Sand & Water, Recess, Center Time, etc. However, the day will be longer enabling us to add some extra activities. The children bring their own lunches and drinks each day. Spaces are limited; there will be one class for each age level. Please notice that your child may not have their regular classroom teacher for Camp Summershine, but all staff members are familiar to the children.
Registration for Camp Summershine will begin Tuesday, March 21 at 9 A.M. We will follow the same registration procedures that we followed for our regular registration (doors will unlock at 9; only parents and regular caregivers may register children). Your child will be considered registered upon receipt of the completed attached form and a check for the non-refundable registration fee of $15. Registration forms and payments must be given directly to Annabelle Miles or Karen Wiles. Please do not leave forms or checks with a teacher. Enrollment is first-come, first-serve. Space is very limited, and registration forms will not be accepted before Tuesday, March 21.
Tuition of $75 must be paid in full by Friday, May 12. Anyone who has not fully paid for Summershine by Friday, May 12 will forfeit their space and registration fee. On Monday, May 15 we will begin to fill these spaces from the waiting list. After May 12, tuition is non-refundable. Refunds, of both fees, will only be made if a class must be canceled due to low enrollment. This will be determined on or before Monday, May 15.
Click here to download the registration form. Fill out the form and email it to firstname.lastname@example.org. Click here to pay online. There is a $5 transaction fee for paying online.
